EU Code Week is a vibrant celebration of creativity and problem-solving through technology, which gained global attention with its grassroots movement promoting coding across all age groups. Building on the success of 2019, when over 4.2 million participants engaged in more than 72,000 activities across Europe, mc Group has embarked on an exciting new project: developing Code Week Community’s podcast series designed to inspire and educate listeners about the world of coding.

This initiative, backed by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology (CNECT), aims to bring coding to life through ten high-quality “story” podcasts, each lasting 20-30 minutes with guests such as Angela Jafarova and Elchin Jafarov, founders of Datorium; Ollie Bray, Strategic Director of Education Scotland; Janne Elvelid, Head of Public Policy for Sweden and Iceland at Meta; Alja Isakovic, founder of Artesia; among others.

Centered around key themes from EU Code Week’s educational resources. The “Code Week Podcast Series” delves into a variety of engaging topics, such as the intersection of coding and creativity, the impact of coding on different age groups, and the role of artificial intelligence in education. Increasing the visibility of programming and technology by highlighting success stories and initiatives, helping to demystify coding skills and inspiring young, adult, and elderly people to bring their ideas to life through code.
Recorded and produced in a Berlin studio, these podcasts are set to provide valuable insights and practical advice, drawing on the expertise of educators, industry professionals, and thought leaders.

This podcast series fosters digital literacy and offers a dynamic platform for sharing knowledge and fostering a deeper understanding of coding. By exploring topics from the advantages of robotics in schools to the real-world problems that programming can solve, the series is poised to engage a diverse audience and underscore the transformative power of coding in today’s digital age.
