Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union, plays a crucial role in providing high-quality statistical information to the institutions of the EU, promoting informed decision-making and policy development. Within this framework, the European Statistical System (ESS) encompasses a network of national statistical institutes and Eurostat, working collaboratively to ensure the availability of reliable and comparable statistics across Europe. In a world increasingly reliant on data-driven decision-making, the importance of effective communication within this system cannot be overstated.

During the 2021-2023 peer review campaign, mc Group was tasked with improving the communication campaigns of the ESS for Eurostat. Their efforts focused on enhancing the visibility and understanding of Eurostat, the EU’s statistical office, and the National Statistical Institutes (NSIs), which are national agencies responsible for collecting and managing statistical data in each member state. mc Group ensured that both Eurostat and the NSIs had the necessary materials and tools to prepare their peer review visits.
To ensure the success of the campaign, mc Group provided a comprehensive array of communication materials tailored to the specific needs of NSI. These deliverables included animated videos, infographics, press kits in English that could then be translated into the 25 official EU/EFTA languages and social media posts. The distribution of these materials was facilitated by setting up a digital repository accessible to all NSIs. mc Group also offered consultancy services to guide the NSIs in implementing their campaigns effectively. This included recommendations on social media strategies, advising on what content to post and optimal timing to maximize engagement and impact.

This approach allowed NSIs to adapt and utilize the resources according to their unique communication goals and timelines for current and future campaigns. Additionally, mc Group coordinated the translation of materials into the 25 official EU/EFTA languages, ensuring the broadest possible reach and resonance across diverse audiences.

By providing customized solutions that address the specific challenges and needs of the NSI, mc Group continues to position itself as a leader in the field of communication.
