HUAWEI Launches the WATCH GT Runner 2 at iIts Global Product Event in Madrid
Supporting HUAWEI’s Global Product Launch in Madrid
A global stage. A world-record holder on the floor. And a product five years in the making, ready to meet the runners who’ve been waiting for it.
That was Madrid on 26 February 2026 — and we were right there, making sure the story carried.
HUAWEI chose the Spanish capital to unveil its most ambitious wearable launch to date, gathering press, partners, and communities of runners from across the world under one roof and one rallying call: Now is Your Run. The centrepiece was the HUAWEI WATCH GT Runner 2 — a professional running watch built for everyone from first-timers to podium chasers, developed over half a decade of research and shaped in part by the input of two-time Olympic marathon champion Eliud Kipchoge.
Our mandate was clear: take that global momentum and land it with full force in the German-speaking market.
From Global Event to Local Impact
The launch wasn’t a single moment. It was the opening chapter of a communications campaign — and our job was to make sure the chapters that followed resonated just as powerfully with German media, retail partners, and consumers.
We developed and distributed the press materials, shaped the narrative for DACH audiences, and ensured that the product stories — from the Runner 2’s precision GPS architecture to the launch of Curve Pay for wrist-based payments during training — were told in ways that felt relevant, not just impressive.
Because great technology deserves communications that match its ambition.
The Story Behind the Watch
What made this launch worth telling was what it stood for. The HUAWEI WATCH GT Runner 2 isn’t positioned as a gadget — it’s positioned as a training partner. An intelligent marathon mode that coaches before, during, and after race day. A GPS system that holds its signal in tunnels, between buildings, through forests. A device that, as Kipchoge put it on stage, can help reach millions of runners worldwide and make a genuine difference in how they move through the world.
